American Airlines Flight 198 bound for Milan, Italy, was forced to return to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, after a passenger attempted to storm the cockpit over a food dispute.

On Monday (7), a passenger attempted to enter the cockpit of an American Airlines flight to Milan. The aircraft was forced to return to John F. Kennedy International Airport due to the incident.

After four hours in the air, the pilot announced that one of the 300 passengers had caused a disturbance onboard after not receiving their preferred meal.

According to witnesses, the man was seated at the back of the plane and lost his temper after being told he could not sit in the emergency exit row with a baby.

“Apparently, someone in the back of the plane was attacking the flight attendants. At one point, he ran past all of us and tried to enter the cockpit,” said passenger Krystie Tomlinson.
